Team Press Release

The Alabama Renegades participated with the Girls, Inc. of Huntsville to celebrate National Girls and Women in Sport Day (NGWSD) on February 6. The celebration was a day to commemorate the accomplishments of female athletes and to highlight how participation in sports has helped them play fair both on and off the field.

Around 50 girls were at the Richard Showers Center for the celebration. Marty Alber, Sandra Kerby, Jamie Flynt and Coach Carlos Matthews from the Alabama Renegades attended the event. Flynt spoke to the girls about empowerment and then the Renegades set-up some football drills for the girls to go through. "We had fun watching the little ones put on their mean faces to hit the blocking dummies", said Flynt.
